Damage Derails Cassidy in Berlin E-Prix Double Header

Nick Cassidy endured a difficult weekend in Berlin, as damage in Race 1 forced him to start from the back of the grid in Race 2 - with a subsequent penalty for component changes costing him a chance of points.

Both Envision Racing drivers endured a tough first race on Saturday afternoon at the Berlin E-Prix. Nick Cassidy was forced to retire with a damaged car, and Frijns had to haul himself from the rear of the grid to score a hard-earned, but pointless 12th place.

Following a nightmare qualifying session, both Frijns and Envision Racing team-mate Nick Cassidy ended up out of position and at the rear of the grid for Saturday's race.
Despite a promising start to the race, Cassidy's race ended with a non-finish after contact curtailed his race early - however damaging parts of his Envision Racing's powertrain, would mean a penalty of the race on Sunday.

Cassidy managed to sign off the weekend in Berlin eventually with something to smile about. Despite the DNF on Saturday and a pitlane start for race two due to a change of MGU, gearbox, converter and DCDC, was certainly not anything to be happy about...however the Kiwi ended the second race of the weekend with the fastest lap and will be looking to carry that speed into the Jakarta E-Prix.

Indonesia will host it's first event FIA Formula E race in a fortnights time on the 3-4 June for the next round of the championship.
