DOUBLE-PODIUM FOR CASSIDY IN BERLIN

DOUBLE-PODIUM FOR CASSIDY IN BERLIN

Nick leaves the Berlin E-Prix after securing 45 points and regaining the lead in the ABB FIA Formula E Drivers’ World Championship.

  • In the opening race of the weekend, Nick lined up in P9 shortly navigating a Safety Car period by lap 17 causing the Jaguar TCS Racing Driver to slip to the back of the pack to P21.
  • Through an efficient strategy Cassidy maximised his available energy to carve his way through the field overtaking Oliver Rowland and subsequently Jean-Eric Verge to seize the lead by lap 43.
  • The energy advantage helped secure a two-second advantage leading to win the race by an impressive 4.6 seconds also securing the fastest lap for a whopping 26 points haul.
  • Carrying momentum into Day 2 and Round 10, Nick made it through to all qualifying duels but narrowly missed out on pole position to Jake Dennis meaning a front row start in P2 on the grid.
  • The fast paced race followed with the race running 2 laps shorter than the previous day. Despite various battles on track Nick held P2 to cross the line and secure a double-podium and back to back fastest laps in Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport Circuit.
  • Jaguar TCS Racing extend their lead in Teams' World Championship to 237 points.

A successful weekend extends Nick’s lead in the Drivers' World Championship, adding;

“Another eventful race today, but it’s been a successful weekend - my most successful to date in my Formula E history - and we leave Berlin leading the Drivers’ World Championship. We made positive changes overnight and we had a really fast package, it felt like we’d adapted the car to be well suited for this track, so feeling really proud of the team for that. I feel for Mitch, I think we both had the pace and the opportunity for a podium today. Hoping to take this positive momentum into the next race weekend in Shanghai.”
